Andrew joined Audubon Minnesota's team as the Forest Ecologist in November 2015. He is passionate about the health of the forest and manageing forests for wildlife, human, and intrinsic values. Andrew attended Michigan Technological University where he earned a BS in Forestry with an additional major in Wildlife Ecology and Management. After graduating from MTU, Andrew and his wife worked various seasonal jobs, most notably two positions with The Nature Conservancy in Ohio and Kentucky. After leaving Kentucky, Andrew worked as a District Forester for Alcona and Iosco counties in MI where he gained excellent experience and worked primarily with private landowners.
In his free time, Andrew enjoys being in the woods as much as possible. Hiking, biking, canoeing, and camping are all favorite pastimes for him. He and his wife both enjoy collecting wild edibles and medicinal plants and experimenting with the principles of permaculture. Andrew loves to learn and is excited to brush up on his birding skills throughout the region.
