Pederson brings 15 years of public policy experience to the organization. Most recently, Pederson served as Senior Policy Advisor for Governor Mark Dayton, covering the areas of environment, energy, agriculture, and commerce. Her accomplishments include spearheading Governor Dayton’s successful water summit in February and securing passage of the Governor’s buffer initiative.
Previously, Pederson spent nine years as the Government Affairs Director for Conservation Minnesota where she oversaw the organization’s public policy and lobbying efforts. She led coalitions that put in place the Clean Water Legacy Act, Great Lakes Compact, stable funding for transportation and transit, and numerous clean energy policies. Pederson also worked for the Northern Dakota County Chambers of Commerce recruiting new members and establishing the organization’s government affairs program. Pederson’s direction will ensure Audubon Minnesota continues to leave a positive conservation legacy for future generations.
